I’m sorry but I will disagree. Hummingbirds do not eat mosquitoes and yes as with all birds,‘mosquitoes often attack hummingbirds, especially at night. I actually observed one hummingbird on video getting bitten and annoyed by mosquitoes.

Thanks for the video! I also self film my hunts and have to deal with some of the same issues. I use ION cameras behind me and on my bow and they are only slightly better than tactacam. They also are lacking on the sound but I use a backup audio recorder just in case. I'm going to take a serious look at the Sionyx. Thanks again!

I grew up hunting public land in Caswell Co. It was a great experience hunting there, and camping when they use to have the camping area and the lake. Not sure about it now, that was over 20 years ago. Many fun hunts there.

First year did the hummers and it seems like we have had significantly less mosquitoes.

I had the corded version for 4 years, only had the one chain. Loved it. It wasn't overly heavy duty and I cooked it pushing too it hard on an extended ripping cut. But good value for the dollar.

Just bought one for oak timber framing it’s perfect for it really good bit of kit. Also bought the strimmer which is very impressive was not expecting it to be so good. 👍 probably get the pole saw next.

I have a hummingbird feeder within about 2.5 feet of my picture window. I was just watching a hummer at the feeder when a swarm of what I assume to be gnats got close to the feeder - and the hummer went at them! Hovering, lunging, and spinning, she seemed to have nabbed 5-6 of them. What a treat to behold - first time I'd ever seen that.

I hope you have learned since then not to use red dye in the nectar or use store bought nectar mixes. Red dye is harmful to hummingbirds and not necessary since the red color of the feeder is enough to attract them. Please make your own nectar using a 4:1 ratio of water to white granulated sugar. Boil water, add sugar, stir until dissolved, let cool and add to feeder. Leftover nectar can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 7 days. Change nectar and clean feeders every 2-3 days. Sugar water can go bad and start growing mold fairly quickly, especially in hot weather. Mold is deadly to hummingbirds.

Hummingbirds are not vegetarian. They eat mosquitoes, aphids, spiders. gnats smaller insects. Nectar is a supplement.
